One of a kind 1933 Ford Pickup draped in teak wood up for grab on eBay

Even by modern day standards, the world was a far more uncertain place in the 1970s. The social structure around the world was in shock and awe of a radical new generation with a set of irreverent values, the oil crisis had thrown global economy in a turmoil and inflation was the giant elephant in the room that was crushing everything under its massive rear end! The automobiles made in this era were also, in many ways, affected by these extremes and many people dealt with the stresses of the time by returning back to nature and its purer ways. The gent who made this awesome wooden 1933 Ford Pickup, however, really got the best of both worlds in one kickass creation.

Found on eBay (where else?), this 1933 Ford Pickup is based on a 1970 Opel chassis and powertrain and is a fine, fine example of what a man who really loves his wood (no pun intended) can do when he has a lot of time on his hands. We’re not sure what motivated the maker of this beauty to fashion an entire vehicle out of teak wood, but we do appreciate the fact that he adhered to original design language of the ’33 Pickup. And the wooden chest that is pre-fitted to the vehicle’s cargo hauler also adds a fine albeit antique horse-driven coach-sy touch to the whole creation.

According to the ad, the vehicle comes with a 1.9-liter powerplant that had been in good working order and has also been recently serviced. The dealer also claims that the vehicle is free of leaks and the only 1933 Ford truck on an Opel chassis ever made entirely in wood. The cabin of this fine piece of craftsmanship is covered in what appears to be faux leather and is a very loud shade of red. Thankfully, the seats are done in a more conservative black leather and cloth though we couldn’t detect any seatbelts on them.

Of course, the dealer has not specified whether taking the kids to school in this one won’t get the Child Services to come down on your behind hard (heck, we think even having it parked in your driveway would get traffic cops writing up all kinds of fines against you!). But just in case you have nothing to talk about with folks who are kind enough to pay you a visit at home, you can get for it by shelling out more than the $3,150.69 that it has already attracted on eBay.
