Mahindra launches new Cool Thar with factory fitted AC

The much awaited 2012 Mahindra Thar fitted with a factory-installed air conditioning system has finally been launched and the company has set a price tag of Rs 6.75 Lakh for the off-roader’s upgraded version. Not all that different from the Thar original off-roader launched no so long ago, the new model has been dubbed the 'New Cool Thar' and boasts of a chassis that combines elements from both the Scorpio as well as the Bolero models. On the powertrain front, the new Mahindra Thar comes with 2.5-L engine variants including the BSIII DI and the BSIV CRDe that outputs 105bhp.

The a/c fitted New Cool Thar will allow vehicle owners to navigate challenging terrains in the utmost comfort and the company’s swift response to the needs of its customer’s shows how serious it is about retaining and expanding its customer base. At the launch of the New Cool Thar, the company also showed off a bespoke custom variant of the model dubbed the Thar Expedition that boosts the model’s off-road capabilities via features like a roll cage, expedition carrier, snorkel, rock sliders and an integrated electric winch on the front bullbar custom-made for this version of the Thar.

With the launch of its much awaited off-roader, Mahindra also officially unveiled the upcoming season’s Adventure calendar that would feature events in categories like Multi-day Escapes, Challenges and Great Escapes.
