The new Smart ForStars is a sports utility coupé concept unlike anything we have ever seen before. Currently on display at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, the new concept comes with all the trimmings of a regular SUC including a generous cargo area and ample space for two people crammed inside a sleek compact body. What makes this vehicle outstanding, however, is the fact that it comes with an innovative projector integrated in the front bonnet that lets users turn any tall, flat surface in front of the vehicle into a movie screen that can be used to create a drive-in theatre experience almost anywhere.

The vehicle derives its lines from the body of the Smart For-Us though it comes with a video projector located where an air scoop is generally found on the bonnet of rally cars. The vehicle creates a spontaneous cinematic experience almost anywhere thanks to an iPhone-controlled media system which is paired with a high quality sound system. The audio system creates a great open-air theatre ambiance within the vehicle as well as around it thanks to extra loudspeakers being fitted into the ventilation scoops located behind the doors.
The new mobility and communication concept runs on the same powertrain as used in the Smart ForTwo BRABUS electric drive though the new concept features a higher tune magneto-electric motor that outputs a total of 60 kW of power and 135 Nm of torque. The lively and agile Smart ForStars runs on a 17.6 kWh lithium-ion battery that gives the vehicle a top speed of 130 km/h. Smart hasn’t yet revealed whether the model will actually be put into production though it could be a great new addition to the company’s lineup of nature friendly cars.
