Opel Cascada (2013) Revealed

Opel has just revealed the details of its new 2013 model year Cascada. The vehicle comes with a premium soft top that can be folded and unfolded within 17 seconds under the speed of 50 km/h. Fitted with FlexRide adaptive damping system, HiPerStrut front suspension and super-rigid body, the 2013 Cascada provides a sharp driving experience that mate with watchful safety systems and ergonomic, ventilated, exclusive Nappa leather-covered seats to provide a sublime traveling experience.

The 2013 Opel Cascada will be offered in three gasoline run options as well as a diesel option. The base engine in the lineup is a gasoline 1.4-L Turbo that delivers 120 hp/88 kW while the higher spec engine is tuned to deliver 140 hp/103 kW. Both variants of the engine are fitted with an overboost function that allows them to output 220 Nm of torque. A manual 6-speed transmission is standard on both the gas engine. The broad powertrain line-up also comprises of a 165 hp/121 kW 2.0-L CDTI diesel engine that uses the overboost system to displace 380 Nm of torque. A 6-speed manual or automatic transmission is offered with the engine.

The highest spec engine in the lineup is a gas-run 1.6 SIDI Turbo ECOTEC engine that uses the overboost function to deliver 280 Nm of torque while displacing 170 hp/125 kW of power @1,650-3,200 rpm. A choice 6-speed manual and automatic transmission will be offered with the engine that also comes with a Active Select function that allows drivers to go from automatic to manual shifting. Opel has announced that the Cascada will be offered with more powerful variants of both the gas as well as the diesel engines at a later date.
