Porsche officially unveils the Panamera Sport Turismo Concept

Porsche have officially showcased their latest offering the Panamera Sport Turismo concept the 2012 edition of the Paris Auto Show. The concept aims at providing performance, efficiency, elegance and comfort in the same vehicle while showcasing the company’s next-gen hybrid drive system. Porsche is using the Panamera Sport Turismo to showcase the evolution of its design language as well as its commitment to providing users with more planet friendly driving options as well. The concept boasts of Porsche’s innovative “e-hybrid” plug-in hybrid system that features a combination of a 333 hp supercharged 3.0-liter V6 engine and a 95hp electric motor.

The vehicle has a combined power output of 416 hp. In combined mode, the model outputs less than 82g CO2 emissions per kilometer while consuming less than 3.5 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers. In all electric mode, the vehicle has a max range of 30 km on a full charge with a top speed of 130 km/h. The powerful lithium-ion battery pack mated ot the electric motor can be fully recharged with 2.5 hours via an external outlet though it can also be replenished during driving in gas-only mode.

The model comes with an adaptive roof spoiler made out of carbon fiber, a special new three dimensional sculpted “Porsche” badge and LED tail lights that add a touch of contemporary flair to the vehicle. With a large boot lid and short overhangs, the Sports Turismo also packs in a mean street presence. Technology wise, the model gets two side air outlets with cameras mounted in them that provide the driver with a rear view. With an improved wheel design, the concept comes finished in a liquid metal blue paint.
