Review: Suzuki swift EV hybrid range extender

In the Tokyo 2011 Motor show, Suzuki presented their new concept car, the 2011 Suzuki Swift EV Hybrid. After so many controversies Suzuki was reluctant to launch new cars, but they finally announced their new concept car. As the name suggests the car is a combination of EV and the hybrid. It is also an eco friendly car, and thus will never harm the environment in any way. Suzuki is hoping that after the official launch of the car, it will surely attract the craze of the customers.

The powertrain:

Suzuki is claiming that this new concept car will be a new powertrain in their showcase of success. The EV Hybrid engine will be a blend of the gasoline exterior engine and the electric motor that will drive the vehicle over the roads. They have claimed that it can traverse at least 30 kilometers on just a liter of petrol. In the congested roads also, the petrol consumption is very low. The hybrid EV concept car will be a four wheeler with compact design and efficient use of technology. The car is made in a way that it can conveniently accommodate five persons at a time.

There are five fashionable doors that will surely attract the attention of the customers. Therefore it proves to be right choice for the family persons. The dimension of the car is 375.00cm*151.00cm*169.00cm. The engine capacity is 0.66 in liters with a power of 75Ch and traction transmission. The autonomy is of 20 kilometer with a battery capacity of 2.66 kWh. The battery is placed in the cabin which is actually the rear trunk of the car. There are also newly designed catchy bumper and beautiful green rim that beautifies the car more.

The exterior and interior:

The car has got a classy view with sleek, dynamic design with the capability of accommodating as many as five persons in the car. There are also five doors in the car that are quite unique in the sense that these are fashionably designed giving an elegant look to the car, which is rare compared to the other cars. The front light of the car is also uniquely designed that no one will come in the other cars. These are capable of emitting huge quantity of light and can also give a crystal clear view of the roads even in the mid night. The design of the rim of the car along with the bumper is quite new in the car industry. There are also bespoke head and tail lamps, redesigned front wheel and aerodynamic wheel covers with a center console and new instrument panel. The battery is located at the rear portion of it.

Suzuki says that their new Suzuki Swift EV Hybrid can run along a distance of 30 kilometers (~19 miles) with a single liter of petrol in it. The car can also be driven with pure electric charge. After the charge gets over, the lithium-ion battery will again be charged by the fuel itself.

What’s new:

The Suzuki Swift EV Hybrid has got its new Suzuki EV hybrid range extender along with new concept that uses the plug in hybrid range extender system. This offers the car to be driven as long as 18 miles with the help of electricity, after which the battery is charged with the small capacity motor fuel itself. This is surely a unique thing and a new one too. The Lithium ion battery takes just 90 minutes to be fully charged, which is capable of delivering a voltage of 200 volts. And the most striking part is that, it can be a source of household power supply via the outlet that is present on the center console.

What’s refreshing?

The great thing about this car is that, it has got a highly efficient lithium ion battery that can be quickly charged, smaller in dimension, weightless and less costly than the batteries of the other cars. This entire newly invented improved feature makes this one the most distinct than the other cars available in the market.
