Created for the style conscious driver, the 2013 Honda CR-Z comes with a bunch of cosmetic upgrades that the company hopes will set it apart from other competitors on the road. The new model comes with a revised grille framed by a new front bumper design. The model has been laced with the GT model’s wheel arches with 17 inch alloys highlighting the aggressive new wheel design. The vehicle also features a new aerodynamic package fronted by a new aerodynamic diffuser. The vehicle will be offered in two new and exclusive paint finishes called Aurora Violet and Energetic Yellow to complement the new interior color scheme.
On the performance side of things, the 2013 Honda CR-Z comes with an uprated ECU and variable valve timing system. The revised 1.5-litre petrol engine also comes with improved output taking its max displacement to 121 PS. The improved powertrain also features an upgraded electric motor system with a max output of 20 PS thanks to the addition of a Lithium Ion battery pack.
The hybrid powertrain’s Integrated Motor Assist system allows it to deliver a max power output of 190 Nm of torque and 137 PS at 6600 rpm in combined mode. The vehicle now delivers a top speed of 124 mph and accelerates from 0-62 mph in 9.0 seconds. The vehicle consumes an average of 56.5 miles per gallon and emits 116 grams of CO2 per kilometer. Underlining the vehicle’s sporty performance is the new Sport Plus (S+) boost system that can be activated when the battery has more than 50 percent charge to deliver increased acceleration for up to 10 seconds.
