On the performance side of things, the 2013 Honda CR-Z comes with an uprated ECU and variable valve timing system. The revised 1.5-litre petrol engine also comes with improved output taking its max displacement to 121 PS. The improved powertrain also features an upgraded electric motor system with a max output of 20 PS thanks to the addition of a Lithium Ion battery pack.

The hybrid powertrain’s Integrated Motor Assist system allows it to deliver a max power output of 190 Nm of torque and 137 PS at 6600 rpm in combined mode. The vehicle now delivers a top speed of 124 mph and accelerates from 0-62 mph in 9.0 seconds. The vehicle consumes an average of 56.5 miles per gallon and emits 116 grams of CO2 per kilometer. Underlining the vehicle’s sporty performance is the new Sport Plus (S+) boost system that can be activated when the battery has more than 50 percent charge to deliver increased acceleration for up to 10 seconds.
