After the huge success of Tata Sumo in India, Tata Motors launched the new Tata Sumo Gold in November 2011. Based on its predecessor Sumo Victa, only few changes has been made that includes new front grille, rear wiper and new fog lamps.The SUV comes with greater power ,torque, Fuel efficiency and quick acceleration to target the young generation. Sumo Gold is currently available in two engine options and four variants. Tata Sumo Gold CX is the base model that comes with 3.0 litre of CR4 diesel engine with five speed manual gearbox. The interiors are a very comfortable and accommodate 7-9 adults with ease. The spacious interiors provides ample head and legroom . The exteriors are not so good and the looks are very boxy and unappealing as compared to its competitor Mahindra Bolero.
